Hello! My name is Colleen. I love all things simple and beautiful. Besides serving God's purpose, being a good mama to my girls and wife to my husband are the most important things to me. Together with my husband Amed, I have two little girls, Rayah (2) and Layla (5), and a stepdaughter, Malica (10). Each one is full of love, sass, and strong opinions. We love our pets and have a bunny, a dog, two cats, and two horses.
I grew up in Pequot Lakes, and after graduating from the College of Saint Benedict and working for a few years in the corporate world, we moved back to my hometown in 2019. I love living in a tight-knit small town area, and being near my family again. But I also love to travel and have adventures near and far. When I'm not at the studio, you can find me with my family on the pontoon on the lake, camping in our fifth wheel, spending time with our horses, helping my parents with their handmade soap business, volunteering at our church (I love to sing in the choir), and attending all the wonderful local community events in our area.
Good memories are true treasures to me. As life continues to pick up the pace as my little ones grow, there are more and more precious little details that I worry I won't remember when they have grown up, like the unique swirl of my first daughter's hair above her eyebrow, or the "stork bite/angel kiss" my second daughter had on her forehead. I have always valued and admired the ability photography has to remember even the littlest things, exactly, in that very specific moment. And there will never be a time in your life quite like this season, in which a snapshot of a moment could show so much fullness: full of change, full of love, full of memories.
When I graduated from college, my parents asked me what I wanted as gift. When I asked for a DLSR camera, I didn't realize that it would be the start to a whole other chapter of learning. When I started my journey in photography, I did weddings, seniors, you name it. But since having kids of my own, motherhood and family sessions have captured my heart. Now with an upgraded Nikon D750 professional camera, I continue to capture all the little details I do not, but inevitably may, forget. As your motherhood photographer, I will take care of every detail for you, so you can fully enjoy your experience with your loved ones. I truly can't wait to meet you and to photograph your family.
